We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you all. This past Monday, our very own Johnny and Kathy Burt were honored with the prestigious Gordon Pickle Heart of Dawson Award at the Best of Dawson Award Ceremony.

The Gordon Pirkle Heart of Dawson Award, established by the Dawson County News in 2021, pays tribute to local community pillars like Gordon Pirkle, whose unwavering dedication to our hometown and county is an inspiration to us all. Each year, this award is presented to an individual who embodies the spirit of giving and love for Dawson County, much like Mr. Pirkle himself.
